Body language expert reveals Robert De Niro’s protective side as he heads out with partner, Tiffany, in a showing of unity at White House State dinner date
Father of seven, Robert De Niro, showed his nurturing side to his partner earlier this week as they stepped out together to attend a lavish dinner at the White House, hosted by President Joe Biden and his wife, First Lady Jill Biden.
The 80-year-old, multi-award-winning actor was seen with his 45-year-old partner Tiffany, in a display of unity at the opulent occasion, held to honour Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Wednesday evening. The prominent pair dressed to impress, with De Niro in a black tuxedo and Chen in a stunning, floor-length white satin gown, as they smiled happily while posing for photographers.
They were joined by an array of big names from the world of politics and business including Apple CEO Tim Cook, NASA administrator Bill Nelson and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The event followed the celebration of their daughter’s, Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro, first birthday on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, leading body language expert, Judi James, said the Hollywood star’s “Wide stride and puffed chest suggests a youthful energy that belies his years”.

She continued: “De Niro arrives with his brows raised in an expression of delight and pride, plus a smile that involves a playful tongue-poke. His arms swing and one hand balls into a fist that hints at determination and enthusiasm.”
“He holds hands with girlfriend Tiffany Chen and their meshed fingers in that clasp suggest a very close, intimate relationship, making her look like one reason for his expression of joy here. De Niro even has his wrist bent in the clasp to suggest a desire to protect Tiffany as well.”

The celebrity couple – who have been dating since 2021 – announced the arrival of they first daughter together, and De Niro’s seventh child, in May last year, after keeping the pregnancy private.
De Niro has previously opened up about the joys of fatherhood after welcoming their daughter, saying: “She’s such an adorable baby, so sweet, when I look at her, everything else goes away. So it’s a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment.”
