Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds has reportedly joined the Denver Broncos on a two-year deal.
The move comes on the back of the team trading wideout Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns earlier in March. It also follows the release of veteran quarterback Russell Wilson. Reynolds will join the likes of Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and Tim Patrick in the team’s receiver room.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the wideout is set to play in Denver Broncos colors after agreeing to a contract worth $14 million.
Reynolds, 29, provided a veteran presence for the Lions over the past few years. He made 40 receptions for 608 yards and five touchdowns last season.
His total was the third-highest on the team and his yardage total turned out to be quite meaningful as he triggered a $250,000 bonus by eclipsing 600 yards.
The receiver waded into free agency at the end of the season, with Lions general manager Brad Holmes telling reporters at the annual owners’ meeting in Orlando, Florida that he hoped to re-sign him.
Josh Reynolds Gives Denver Broncos A Dependable Option In The Passing Game
Josh Reynolds was claimed off waivers after the Tennessee Titans released him in November of 2021. He signed a two-year extension on his deal ahead of the 2022 season.
The wideout was drafted out of the fourth round by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 and spent the first four years of his career with the team. He has gone on to register 220 receptions for 2,933 yards and 19 touchdowns in 107 games, averaging 13.3 yards per catch throughout his career.
