The fashion and shapewear brand SKIMS, which Kim Kardashian co-founded, has debuted a new ad that highlights WNBA players just in time for the 2024 women’s basketball season to begin.

The action emphasizes the growing connection between women’s sports and fashion, highlighting the marketability and allure of athletes off the field.

One of the greatest WNBA players of all time, Candace Parker, is leading the way along with All-Stars Kelsey Plum of the Las Vegas Aces and Skylar Diggins-Smith of the Seattle Storm, guard Dijonai Carrington of the Connecticut Sun, and Cameron Brink, the second overall draft pick of the Los Angeles Sparks.

Hugh Wilson took a set of photos that Kim Kardashian published, in which the gifted ensemble holds Wilson basketballs and sports the newest SKIMS Fits Everybody underwear line. The collection, which is now offered on the brand’s website, comes in over 20 underwear designs and ten distinctive colorways.

The WNBA stars accessorized with eye-catching statement necklaces, earrings, and belly chains. They also carried exclusive WNBA x Skims balls in colors that matched their underwear.

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a fellow basketball star, and Usher, along with other male athletes, have all endorsed Kim Kardashian’s Skims as the official underwear of the NBA. The WNBA players are the newest celebrities to join the Skims campaign.

“I’m proud to launch this new WNBA campaign starring such an incredible cast of athletes. Championing women and women in sports is incredibly important to SKIMS,” said Kardashian. “Our brand DNA is rooted in inclusivity, representation, and women’s empowerment, which are values shared with the WNBA. We are honored to be the Official Underwear Partner of the league and look forward to continuing our work together throughout the season.”

Parker added, “I’m thrilled to be included in the first-ever SKIMS WNBA campaign alongside this amazing group of rising stars and all-stars. As I move onto this next chapter in my life, I hope to leave the game in a better place and continue to be an example of what is possible both on and off the court.”

Last year, Kim Kardashian announced that her clothing brand, Skims, has been named the “Official Underwear Partner” of the NBA, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), and USA Basketball.

In a statement released by the NBA, Kim said, “I am incredibly proud of SKIMS’s partnership with the NBA, as it is a reflection of SKIMS growing influence on culture. Together, SKIMS and the NBA will connect people of all backgrounds through fashion, sport, and talent, and I look forward to seeing the partnership thrive.”

The brand has previously worked with a sports team. Skims was in charge of creating Team USA’s official loungewear, pajamas, and underwear for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Kim founded Skims as a shapewear brand in 2019, but it has since expanded into underwear and loungewear.
