Diana Taurasi hasn’t been shy about sharing often unpopular opinions about Caitlin Clark, but she also has her own team to think about.
The Phoenix Mercury had a rough season in 2023 with the return of Brittany Griner from Russia.
The team was looking to start things off much better in 2024, but many of their issues have remained the same. The team, along with Diani Taurasi, had the unfortunate task of taking on the Las Vegas Aces on the road in what was their ring ceremony night.
The Aces went on an early 21-3 run to go up 29-11 late in the first quarter, but the Mercury battled back to be down only one at halftime.
Unfortunately for Diana Taurasi’s crew, the Aces slowly pulled away and pulled off the win.
After the game, Diana Taurasi was seen making her way to the locker room, slamming a door in frustration.
Taurasi had quite the game. She scored 23 points in 28 minutes, going 8 of 14 from the field and 7 of 11 from 3-point range. She also added three rebounds on the night, via ESPN.com.

When Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi said that Caitlin Clark’s “reality is coming” when she made the move to the WNBA earlier this year, she received a lot of backlash on social media.
Tuesday night marked Clark’s much-awaited WNBA regular-season debut, and she definitely didn’t have the kind of start many had hoped for. Clark struggled at one point during her debut, scoring seven points on 2-of-7 shooting, one assist, one steal, five turnovers, and two fouls.
In Clark’s debut, the Fever fell short against the Connecticut Sun, 92–71. Despite scoring a game-high 20 points, she also made ten turnovers.
