Director Shawn Levy took the stage at CinemaCon to introduce the film and present the footage to the audience. Amidst the buzz, media inquiries persisted about rumored cameos in the film, including Taylor Swift. Levy, perhaps feeling a bit playful, responded to these questions with a touch of sarcasm.

Shawn Levy Gets Asked About Taylor Swift’s Rumored Appearance in Deadpool 3

“Deadpool 3” promises to be a multiversal journey featuring the dynamic duo of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and fans are eagerly anticipating a plethora of cameos from across the Marvel universe. Despite teasing the film’s audacious and hard-R tone, the footage showcased at CinemaCon cleverly kept any spoilers or cameo appearances under wraps.

Director Shawn Levy was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight as he talked about how the film has turned out and what people can expect from the film. He was again asked about Taylor Swift‘s rumored appearance as Dazzler in the film. The director joked about how the reporter has the audacity to asked him that question as Reynolds will kill him if he says anything about the film. Levy said,

“I can’t even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can’t answer. You know I can’t answer. All of America knows I can’t answer that. I will say as I said earlier here at CinemaCon. The proliferation of rumors about who is and isn’t in this movie is fabulous.

Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26th. That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview. I’m going to literally walk about of the frame and save myself, otherwise Ryan’s taking a hit [out] on me.”

It can indeed be puzzling why the media continues to ask questions they know filmmakers won’t answer, especially when it comes to spoilers. However, Shawn Levy’s cautious approach aligns with the studio’s strategy, aiming to maintain the mystery surrounding the film until its release in July. It’s all about preserving the excitement and intrigue for audiences.

Shawn Levy Teases Funnier Scenes in Deadpool 3 Than the CinemaCon Footage

Shawn Levy took the stage at CinemaCon to introduce audiences to the highly anticipated Deadpool film and treated them to an exclusive 9-minute preview. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with The Hollywood Reporter noting that the footage elicited the biggest laughs from the audience during the event. It seems the film is shaping up to be a crowd-pleaser!

In an interview with Collider, Levy expressed his happiness at the wild reaction from audiences from watching the footage. He also revealed that those scenes are not even close to the funniest and insane scenes from the film. The fact that those scenes made such a big impact on audiences gave him and Kevin Feige more confidence about the film’s quality. He said,

“I didn’t want to show 90 seconds, I didn’t want to show a sizzle reel. We wanted to show a taste of the movie. We wanted to do it without spoilers. And yeah, it was a lot of set-up, it was a lot of first act type storytelling, but the fact that those scenes, which aren’t even near our funniest or our most insane, those jokes, and those moments played the way they did today, that was pretty thrilling. I was standing in the dark side of the theater with Kevin [Feige], and we had smiles on our faces seeing the way it was received.”

Levy didn’t just stop at presenting the footage; he also teased an ingenious move for the film—a custom popcorn bucket, following in the footsteps of the tradition set by Dune: Part Two. In addition to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, the star-studded cast of Deadpool & Wolverine includes Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen. With such a stellar lineup, anticipation for the film continues to soar.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theatres on July 26, 2024.
