The Kansas City Chiefs star made the sweet comment about his pop star girlfriend during the latest episode of his ‘New Heights’ podcast

Travis Kelce is reflecting on the early days of his courtship with Taylor Swift.

Speaking on the most recent episode of their podcast, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” which was released on April 10, Travis, aged 34, admitted that he’s still uncertain about how he began dating the pop superstar, also aged 34.

After Jason, aged 36, informed their guest, Lil Dicky, that their podcast had gained “a lot of new fans called Swifties,” the rapper, also aged 36, questioned the brothers about how they were handling the increased attention that accompanied Travis’ relationship with the pop superstar.

While Jason confessed that “it hasn’t changed that much for me,” Travis expressed his enjoyment of the situation, stating that “it’s fun” and that he’s “having a blast in life, baby.”

He further elaborated, saying, “Just flying high, enjoying it all. Bringing new life to the football world and introducing the football world to new things.”

The comedian then called the duo’s romance “the best thing ever,” adding, “I think there’s just something that makes everyone feel like the world is like high school, where your most popular pop star beloved musician somehow how met your most popular beloved athlete and they actually fell in love and it’s just real. Anyone who hates on it is a bitter loser.”

“I appreciate it, man,” Travis responded, before going on to admit with a laugh, “I don’t know how I did it because she wasn’t into sports, so I don’t know how the f— I did it.”

Lil Dicky interjected, “Well you did because you called her out on…”

“No, I know exactly how I did it,” Travis continued with another laugh.

The relationship between the Kansas City Chiefs star and the “Karma” singer first sparked dating rumors in September 2023 after the musician attended several of Kelce’s games.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show podcast that same month, Travis disclosed that he had invited Swift to attend one of his games and “threw the ball in her court” after witnessing her performance at Arrowhead Stadium during her Eras Tour in July 2023.

The couple officially confirmed their romance in October 2023 when they were spotted holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty in New York City.

Travis has since been a supportive presence at several stops on Swift’s worldwide tour, including a recent trip to Singapore last month where the star performed six shows at the Kallang Stadium.

Travis Kelce is trading his football for a microphone, and a source exclusively tells Us Weekly that the Super Bowl champion is already impressing people with his hosting skills as Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity starts filming.

“He’s funny and has the wits for it,” the insider tells Us of Kelce, 34. “He’s the perfect host. It’s a great gig for him.”

The source tells Us the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is filming several episodes back-to-back in Los Angeles, where he has been photographed with both girlfriend Taylor Swift and brother Jason Kelce during his off hours. The first episodes of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity started filming at the beginning of the month, and production is expected to continue next week.

Travis previously starred in his own 2016 reality series, Catching Kelce, and he and brother Jason’s “New Heights” podcast has helped him log plenty of hours behind the mic. He rose to a new level of fame after he and Swift took their romance public in September 2023. However, the decision to try his hand at hosting happened long before the Super Bowl champion started dating the singer, who is supportive of his latest endeavor.

“Taylor is very excited about the opportunities Travis is getting and fully supports him,” a source told Us earlier this month. “[But] she wants him to be conscious of his schedule. The only issue is making sure they can see each other.”

Another insider disclosed to Us on April 3 that the deal for “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity” was signed “long before Travis’ profile was raised, and now he has to honor the contract. [They’ll shoot] several test episodes and really fine-tune the show and Kelce so this doesn’t embarrass him.”

“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” originally aired on Fox from 2007 to 2009 and then went into syndication until 2011 with Jeff Foxworthy as host. The comedian returned as host in 2015 when Fox brought the show back to primetime for one season. John Cena took over duties as emcee when Nickelodeon rebooted the series for a single season in 2019.

Despite exploring new career paths, Travis is not ready to retire from the NFL just yet. During a January press conference, Kelce stated that he has “no reason” to hang up his jersey, expressing his love for the game and emphasizing, “We still have success.”

While he keeps busy during the off-season, Travis still finds time to relax with Swift. Us exclusively revealed that the pair are planning to attend Coachella together later this month.
