It remains uncertain if Sly’s longtime pal will appear in the series but the two certainly had a good time catching up as they chatted and even posed for a few snaps together.

It was announced back in December that the three-time Oscar nominee had been cast in the drama series – named Kansas City at the time – from Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) and Terence Winter (The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire).

As this is his first leading role on the small screen, Stallone had several television roles during the start of his career, guest starring on such classic shows such as Police Story (1975) and Kojak (1975).

During that time, he struggled to land a film role that was more than a cameo role or work as an extra.

But that would all change when he won his first critical acclaim as an actor for his co-starring role as Stanley Rosiello in The Lords of Flatbush (1974).

And just two years later, Stallone would see his star shot to the highest peak with the success of the boxing drama, Rocky (1976), which he wrote, directed and starred in the title role

Having done very few scripted TV roles since the early 1970s, the New York native played himself in the Deja Vu episode of the hit series This Is Us (2017).

In Kansas City, the story follows a New York City Italian mobster (Stallone), who’s forced to relocate to one of the most unlikely of places— Kansas City, Missouri, according to the series synopsis.

Set in present day, Stallone’s legendary mobster Sal is faced with the startling task of reestablishing his Italian mafia family to the modernized, straight-shooting town of Kansas City.

After arriving in the Midwest city, Sal encounters surprising and unsuspecting characters who follow him along his unconventional path to power.

Sheridan, Winter and Stallone will serve as executive producers with David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari of 101 Studios. Winter, an Oscar nominee for his screenplay for Wolf of Wall Street, will also run the show as showrunner, and a writers room is up and running.

Following his divorce from Sasha, Sylvester married actress and model Brigitte Nielsen, however their high-profile union only lasted for two years.

In 2010, Stallone told the Daily Telegraph as quoted by The Sun, ‘I’ve never had more fun. I learnt that from my wife… It took me 19 years to realize she’s always right.

‘I realized that women have a knack, at least Jennifer, for making incredibly erudite, wise, smart decisions. I always leap without looking.’
